To Help Fill Critical Positions at Juvenile Hall Los Angeles County Probation Department Continues Recruitment Efforts

LOS ANGELES – In accordance with its initiative to fill critical positions within the department and enhance its capacity to serve the community effectively, the Los Angeles County Probation Department is continuing to work to attract talented individuals passionate about community service and criminal justice reform to fill the positions of Detention Services Officer and Group Supervisor, Nights. About the Positions

Detention Services Officers play a crucial role in the Probation Department’s 24-hour, seven-day-a-week facilities, where they have direct supervisory responsibility for youth. These dedicated professionals oversee youth safety during various scheduled activities and movements, ensuring a secure and supportive environment for rehabilitation and growth. To qualify, candidates must have completed 60 semester units (or 90 quarter units) from an accredited college, including coursework in social or behavioral science fields. The salary range for this position is $64,789 – $78,330 annually.

Group Supervisor, Nights, oversees living units during sleeping hours in facilities dedicated to youth custody, care, treatment, and rehabilitation. This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and candidates must demonstrate the ability to provide adequate supervision and support to youth during overnight hours. The salary range for this position is $48,318 – $61,675 is annually.
