Statement Regarding Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Recruits that were Injured in Crash

LOS ANGELES— The Los Angeles County Probation Department is sending prayers to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department after yesterday’s horrific crash when a driver struck a group of Los Angeles sheriff’s recruits who were on a run as part of their academy training. Twenty-five people were injured, and five are currently in critical condition.

“We are praying for those injured in yesterday’s horrific crash. We stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. It is a tragedy to see something like this occur to recruits who were training to be able to serve their communities. Public safety is indispensable in the world we live in today. We will continue to pray for all the recruits’ well-being and livelihoods,” said Chief Probation Officer Dr. Adolfo Gonzales.
