Safety Ensured Following Bomb Threat at Harbor Courthouse and Probation Area Office
On November 13, 2024, a suspicious package was discovered at the Los Angeles County Harbor Courthouse in Torrance, adjacent to the Probation Harbor Area Office. Local authorities immediately secured the area, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad was called to the scene.
As a precaution, the courthouse was evacuated, and a bomb squad robot was deployed to assess the situation. Following careful evaluation, the device was detonated and confirmed to be a bomb. The grounds in and around the courthouse and Probation office continue to be searched to ensure public safety.
The Harbor Area Probation Office was also evacuated as a precaution, and we are relieved to report that no injuries were reported. All staff and clients are safe, and regular operations resumed today, November 14, 2024.
The safety of our community, staff, and clients is our top priority. We will continue to work closely with law enforcement to provide any necessary support.
