Robert Arcos, Acting Chief Deputy of Operations

Robert Arcos began his law enforcement career in 1988 after graduating from the Los Angeles Police Academy. He served honorably for 33 years with the Los Angeles Police Department, culminating in his retirement as Assistant Chief in the Office of Operations. Throughout his tenure, he cultivated strong partnerships with community advocates, non-profit organizations, businesses, and civic leaders, developing impactful community-police youth programs. He also serves as Vice President of the Hispanic American Police Command Officers Association (HAPCOA).

Before his selection as Acting Chief Deputy of Operations, Mr. Arcos served as the Chief of the Bureau of Investigation, Office of the Los Angeles County District Attorney. The Bureau of Investigation (BOI) is the country’s fifth-largest law enforcement agency. In this role, he oversaw critical investigations into public corruption, fraud, cybercrime, officer-involved shootings, and child abductions.
