JUVENILE CHARGES

Campus Vernon Kilpatrick (CVK) is committed to end girls’ incarceration, improve the lives and wellbeing of girls and gender expansive youth, while ensuring healthier and safer communities. This includes creating safe, welcoming spaces that offer gender-affirming products and services, as well as educational, vocational, and life skills programs designed to prepare youth for success. It also provides opportunities for creative expression, peer mentorship, leadership development, and access to quality medical, mental health, and reentry support services.

Sustained petitions include but are not limited to violations of penal code 245 PC (assault with deadly weapon), 211 PC (robbery) and 664/187 PC (attempted murder).

Juvenile Charges Breakdown

As of July 07, 2026, Campus Kilpatrick Juvenile Hall housed female and non-binary juveniles for various charges. The most common offenses include:

  • Violent crimes (manslaughter, murder, attempted murder, assault, battery, robbery, kidnapping, arson, gang-related incidents): 70%.
  • Property crimes (carjacking, burglary, vandalism, theft): 17%.
  • Drug-related offenses (possession, trafficking): 0%.
  • Weapons violations: 2%.
  • Probation violations (repeat offenses or failure to comply with terms): 4%.
  • Sex-related offenses: 0%.

Each juvenile’s detention length is case-dependent, with judicial discretion applied to sentencing.
