CENTRALIZED RESTITUTION UNIT (CRU)

The primary focus of the Centralized Restitution Unit (CRU) is to process and determine restitution owed to victims pursuant to judicial court order. The amount of restitution is determined based on guidelines provided in State Welfare and Institutions Code Section 730.6 and Penal Code Section 1202.4. CRU sends and receives letters, processes Statement of Loss Forms and other documentation related to court ordered restitution. This Unit is also responsible for answering victims’ questions relating to the restitution process. The Centralized Restitution Unit’s Restitution Information Web Page is designed to provide victims easy access to forms, links to victims assistance agencies, and answer frequently asked questions.
