  • Why do I have to pay this bill?
    Pursuant to Section 903 of the California State Welfare and Institutions Code, the father, mother, spouse, or other person liable for the support of a minor, the estate of that person, and the estate of the minor, shall be liable for the cost of support of the minor while the minor is placed, or detained pursuant to an order of the juvenile court.

  • What happens if I don’t show up for my financial evaluation?
    Failure to respond or appear to the notice for the financial evaluation, may result in the court issuing an order for you to pay the full amount.

  • What happens if I fail to pay the court ordered amount?
    The Probation Department may take further collection actions such as state tax intercept or filing an abstract of judgment.

  • Who do I call to make payment arrangements?

  • Why do I need to complete the Financial Statement?
    So the Probation Department can determine your ability to pay the cost.
