Placement Services
The Placement Services Bureau encompasses Central and Regional Placement, Emancipation Services, and Placement Quality Assurance. Each unit plays a vital role in the lives of minors with a Suitable Placement order. Most Suitable Placement minors are removed from their homes and placed in an environment which best addresses their needs. Minors can be placed in out-of-home care ranging from Group Homes and Psychiatric Hospitals to care with Relatives and Non-Relatives.
Central Placement is the administrative hub of the Placement Services Bureau and is responsible for the placement of minors in out-of-home care that best meet their specific needs.
Regional Placement is the operational end of the Placement Services Bureau and is responsible for the case management and monitoring of the minors ordered Suitable Placement by the juvenile delinquency court. Deputy Probation Officers work with the minors and families to identify areas of strength and risk in order to develop an appropriate case plan.
Emancipation Services provides training and assistance to current and former foster care youth. These services are directed toward youth who are emancipating and will be living on their own. Life skills, job training, housing assistance is provided through this unit.
Placement Quality Assurance provides services such as family finding and permanency planning services as well as monitoring compliance with State and Federal mandates and regulations.
