Specialized Warrant Intervention Fugitive Team (SWIFT)

The team devotes the majority of time working with the Sheriff's Department and other agencies to identify, locate and arrest minors who have absconded from probation. Given the high-risk nature of warrant service, this activity is not attempted without police backup. DPOs also enforce the terms and conditions of probation as they observe probationers in the community who are in violation of their conditions. Supervision is designed to provide gang-suppression through enhanced monitoring of approximately 10 high-risk probation cases. DPOs spend most of their time in the field. SWIFT presently serves the Valinda Corridor and Basset area but will expand as resources become available.
