Budget Unit

The Budget Unit is responsible for the preparation and implementation of the Department's budget. This includes monitoring and analyzing financial activity of the Department and preparation of various financial reports, certifying the availability of funds for all purchase orders and contracts, and providing support to bureaus and managers.

Accounting Unit

The Accounting Unit handles a large number of business functions for the Department. A partial listing of these functions include payment of purchase orders, payment of contracted services, billing for services provided, and billing grant costs. This unit, in essence, handles accounts payable and accounts receivable for the Department. This unit, in essence, handles accounts payable and accounts receivable for the Department.

Probationer Account Unit

The Probationer Account Unit processes the financial paperwork needed to set up and change probationers' financial accounts. Calls from probationers, victims, and deputy probation officers regarding individual financial accounts are received and handled by this unit.

Federal Reimbursement and Auditing Unit

The Federal Reimbursement and Auditing Unit's primary responsibilities are federal cost claiming, preparation of billing rates, internal financial audits, and follow-up on Auditor-Controller and State recommendations.

Cashiering Unit

The Cashiering Unit, in addition to its cash depositing duties, also handles the payment of minors on work crews, researches unidentified probationer payments, Federal Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) work experience payments to minors, tracking of seized assets, Work Furlough payments, and reconciliation of trust funds.

Centralized Restitution Unit

The Centralized Restitution Unit contacts victims of juvenile and adult probationers and sets up restitution if ordered by the Court. The unit is also responsible for implementing departmental policies and procedures in the area of victim assistance and restitution.

Juvenile Reimbursement Unit

The Juvenile Reimbursement Unit bills parents for their child's cost support while in juvenile hall, camp, or placement facility. The billing process requires obtaining a court order after screening for ability to pay. The cost of support includes food, clothing, and medical expense.
